Ervin Earl Moye

It was wintertime in the beautiful settlement of Lenoir County when, on Wednesday, January 18, 1950, a baby boy was born to William Graham and Mildred M. Raspberry. They named him Ervin.

Ervin E. Moye, 75, of Robinson Place, answered the Master’s clarion call on Saturday at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville.

The Celebration of His Life will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. Michael A. Johnson officiating. His mortal frame will be laid to rest on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 12 Noon in the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

He leaves loving and precious memories to his wife, Koretta Kennon Moye; his daughters LaTonya Barnes and Kontonka Hood; his son Rodney Wooten; his brother, Terry Raspberry (Jalanda); his Aunt Inez Moye, who was like a second mother; his uncles Herman Moye (Anne) and Winfred Moye (Pearl); his cousin Brenda Randolph (Roosevelt) who was like a sister; his best friend Donald Best; his mother-in-law Lillie Kennon Barnett; his sisters-in-law Shelia Shaw (Ernest) and, Cafiner Powell; his grandchildren, Terrell Dawson (Janell), Danny Barnes, Shameria Graham and Larry Graham; his great-grandchildren Amonte’, Myreion, and Terrejana, Zamir Hood, Braelyn Hood, Saniyah Graham, Ry’Mir Graham, and Layanah Newborn;; his special friends Clemont “C.G.” Gardner, Fred Kittrell, Pigeon Buddin, and Charles Joyner; and, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 4 PM – 6 PM in the Rev. Ernie Haskins Memorial Chapel of Haskins Memorial Services. The family will assemble at the residence in preparation for the service.
